I would love to introduce you to the delightful Carol – the owner and chef of this little querky teashop. Situated at 47, North Street, Chichester she caters for all tastes! This is a brilliant place for a quiet sit down and bit of something naughty!

Gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free cakes are all available – helped by Carol’s 30 years as a food technician teacher. She has a magically creative side – not only in the cakes but also the whole presentation of the dishes, teas and ambience. Little touches can be seen everywhere – and they make it truly charming.

I was lucky enough to be taken for tea for my birthday – and we had a gorgeous vintage 2-tier cake stand with 6 generous finger sandwiches and fresh salad garnish on the bottom layer.

The top layer had a big coffee choux bun, two small clotted cream and jam scones, a stunningly gooey a strawberry meringue which just melted in the mouth! plus a tiffin and a mini cup cake with a lovely frosted top!

My friend had the dairy-free option – with a different cream frosting for her scones. Stunning!

It was definately filling (!) so much so that I couldn’t manage the tiffin cake! That came home for later..

I had for my tea the Earl Grey with rose petals – and it was divine! It went so well with all the rest of the cakes and sandwiches.

I cannot recommend this little shop more – but, as if this wasn’t enough Carol also creates the most stunning shop front displays and regularly wins the Summer Chichester Festival competition. Have a really good look! This year there is a jungle theme apparently!

Carol can also do some catering for events or special occasions – I was thinking that a Hen party would be lovely or a birthday party. What about you?

Afterwards we had a most enjoyable walk around the City Walls – and snooped in at the gardens! Such a variety! Anyway, that story is for another post!
