Getting away for a short break – whether a weekend break or mid-week can be wonderfully restorative.

Just a short time and distance away from work, homelife and the list of “things to do” that never seem to cease and a change of scenery, can do wonders for people.

My guests love coming to the Chichester Self Catering properties for just this reason. It gives you head space as well as being able to enjoy clean air, wide open spaces, a special light which is bluer than normal – due to being reflected off the sea and ionosphere! – and dark skies to gaze at the stars and planets and passing space stations & satellites. love.bigtable.1000px

“A break is as good as a rest” they say. It always seemed a bit of an odd expression! But in reality, having different environments to be in allows new thoughts and perspectives to come into your life which is quite impossible “at home” I find.

Some of our guests – like the Hen parties – are here for fun, meeting up and enjoying being together and the whole experience, especially the hot tub and spa facilities! They may go out to eat at one of the nearby pubs or stay in.

Themed weekends are great for all age groups – it can be shopping – clothes, shoes, bargain shopping, antique hunting etc. We have a good selection of places within a few miles for all of these. Gayle Palmer can give some more tips if you have specific desires!

GoodwoodRacing to the finishOther themes are more activity based – various watersports opportunities at the various beaches are all within easy reach – windsurfing, kiteboarding, sailing, bodyboarding – bring your kit and off you go!

Getting out to the beach early before the daytrippers arrive, and with plenty of washing and drying facilities to wash off the sand and salty water afterwards means you can make the most of the whole day. Pack a fabulous picnic or BBQ or better still, come back to the gas BBQ on the patio for your evening meal.

Remember we have 2 local racecourses (Fontwell and Goodwood) to choose from if that’s your fancy as well as a motor circuit (Goodwood) and aerodrome.

Stately homes are prominent nearby and well worth a visit, plus some excellent museums – Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, Fishbourne Roman Palace and The Novium to name a few.

Arriving on a Friday evening from London or elsewhere you are instantly transported to a slower, quieter pace of life! Whether you choose to take advantage of this is up to you! If you do – the spa facilities, small library and general ambience will calm and relax you. A good night’s sleep in comfortable beds will also revive you and enable your nervous system to settle down.

We have plenty of ideas of what to do locally – depending on your wishes. Kids activities, places to explore, to visit free of charge or special weekend events – eg jousting at Arundel or the various Art Trails.

If you want a romantic weekend away with your honey Gayle can offer a special romance package too! Champagne and fresh local flowers and chocolates on arrival and the principal bedroom made especially decorative and romantic! It costs a bit extra we we have never had any complaints!

Don’t forget we are both child and dog-friendly and wheelchair friendly at Nature’s Elements so no-one needs to be left behind.
